The Purpose of This Site

If you haven’t noticed, there is a lot of bullshit floating around the health and fitness industry. Lies about five minute abs, shortcuts to getting huge and shredded, and unsupported claims of quick success.

Not only is this damaging the community as a whole by misleading the general public, it is downright disrespectful to spread false fitness and health information to make a quick buck.

It’s disrespectful because it downplays the fact that there are many people who work their asses off every single day to achieve the results they strive for.

It’s disrespectful because there are people in the fitness industry who work for the good of the community. They offer up spectacular (often free) content for the sole purpose of helping those who want to take their physique, fitness, and overall help to the next level.

The problem is, these people are often overshadowed by the scam-artists who plague the industry with their dogma; and it is disheartening to say the least.

I’m not trying to be a hero by any means. The purpose of this site is to add to the numbers on the good side of fitness, the side that actually cares about the progress of their clients and readers and wants the best for them, not just their wallet.

I hope that this site can be a breath of fresh air. I hope that my no-bullshit approach to fitness, and life, will be of assistance to you in a way that can allow you to make consistent improvements to your lifestyle, and as a result look and feel great.

Who is This Jake Johnson Guy Anyways?

Something you should understand is that I’m no big shot, and I’ll never claim to be. I’m not genetically gifted, I don’t deadlift 600 pounds, and I won’t blow you away with my intelligence either.

What I do have is an extreme passion, scratch that, obsession, for fitness. More importantly, I’m passionate about helping people achieve their goals. While I specialize in the area of fat loss, I write about a variety of topics such as strength and muscle gain, meditation, recovery methods, and injury prevention.

Just so you get the gist of who I am, here is a list of things that describe me in the most well-rounded way possible:

– Nerd (did someone say Harry Potter?)

– Wannabe comedian (meaning I like to think I’m funny. Get it?)

Why Strength?

I’m often asked why I decide to name my site JJ “Strength”.  Why not use the word “fitness” or “health”?

Strength is such a powerful word, and it has very far-reaching implications. Being strong can refer to the mind, body, spirit; essentially whatever you choose.  My writing will delve into how to improve all aspects of strength, en route to living a stronger and healthier life.

Strength is one of the most important qualities a person can develop, so I feel that it needs to be emphasized to the highest degree possible, so this site was born.
